Tribute

Robert ( Bob ) passed away peacefully at the age of 93 in Hopsice , Abbotsford BC.  He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 52 years, Dianne and his children, Gayle ( David) , David ( Marisol), Randy ( Julianne), Dan ( Heather), Don( Christine), Johnna, Doug ( Hasina), Cynitha, Chandra ( Mark ) and all his grand children and great grand children.
Robert was born in Grand Junction, Colorado but spent his days growing up in Brandon, Manitoba.  He had four siblings and is survived by his brother, Raymond and sister Mary Jane Kennedy.  He married Jean ( Kenny) before leaving Brandon to join the US Army And to fight in the Korean War.  He and his family were stationed in Rome, Italy for a period of time and it became one of his favorite places in the world.
The family then moved back to Canada settling in Edmonton, Alberta where Robert worked as an accountant for Len Perry Homes.  This is where he learnt the construction business and started Clarendon Homes.  He became a highly respected and successful home builder in Edmonton and Calgary allowing him to retire before the age of 50.
Sadly his first wife Jean  passed away from cancer at the age of 41.  But a miracle happened; he met and married Dianne who has been by his side for 52 years.
After retirement, Bob, Dianne and the family moved to Victoria , BC. However,
Bob continued to be involved in the business world which resulted in moves to Vancouver, Toronto, Edmonton and Vancouver Island.  For a short time they settled in Nanoose Bay and enjoyed the island way of life.  Robert loved his family and loved having them with him.  As some would say, he loved life and enjoyed a good party.
In the last few years Bob and Dianne moved to Abbotsford .  Bob spent his last days with Dianne who became his caregiver.  He will be remembered as a loving, caring father who cherished his time with Dianne and the family.  He will be greatly missed.
